Im just wondering what i should do next.I probably wont be getting SR20det for a while.I have an automatic 96 240sx se (I hate automatics as well)I have HKS hipower cat back and thats it.Whats some ideas on what i should do next to my car performance wise?

 

if you really, really hate auto's you could always do a 5spd swap

 

^ but if you dont have enough for that swap then get a AEM Cold Air Intake and you'll gain a good amount of HP

 

Yes^^^ I have AEM and its good. Try ebay thats where I got mine. Porob. like 5 donkeys and awsome sound

no you wont. what good is an intake sucking in so much air that on the way out its restricted by the header along with the cat and the exhaust?

it does no good. you will get approx 1hp for every 10 degrees dropped i believe.

yea youll gain 5hp like they say, but in reality you barely gain anything or next to none

ur butt dyno wont know the difference you'll only hear the roaring sound.

you get teh same sound with an open filter

do a 5 speed swap... i wouldnt waist your money on intakes and headers and such if your eventually gonna do an SR swap.

 

tranny sway...if not...some suspension $hit...coilovers if u got money...i hear that tein s-tech and agx struts are a good inexpensive setup...

 

do your suspension/brakes... engine stuff would be pointless considering you're getting an sr20... then you'll be ready when you drop the beast in, your car will be able to handle the power, and be able to stop.

 

Ok well i have heard about the intake thing yea it gives like no HP really and yea it makes it sound nicer but im not all about sound.I think im goin with trans swap because my suspension is already lowered came that way i was wondering why mycar looked so low i jacked it up and its got like new bars and lowereing spring so im straight on lowering for now.

 

and i was also thinkin brakes but they are just as expensive as engine man like 300zx brake kits.

 

why do you make it sound liek the SR is some sort of 400hp beast engine? haha its a stock engine that can be stopped with normal brakes. SR is nothing great, more overrated than anything
