Would disconnecting the aiv sensor eliminate the use of the AIV?

Would disconnecting the aiv sensor eliminate the use of the AIV?
The reason i ask is because i was thinking about taking it off because it causes my car to idle like **** and lose power.People Ive been talking to have been saying i should take it out and plug up all the vacuum hoses.I got to figuring, wouldnt it be easier to disconnect the sensor, that way you eliminate the use of the AIV.I took it for a drive afterwards and it seems to have more balls and idles allot better.
Should I just eliminate the whole assembly or will disconnecting the sensor do the job???

:spin:

yeah, make sure you plug the holes GOOD, or it'll die on youm especially the exhaust
But a good mod, there's a reason they didn't include them on s14's, they caused more problems than they are worth.

I plugged them up with screws and clamped em off.I first made the mistake of wrapping foil on the end of the one coming from the header and was driving down the road and it blew off,it sounded like my engine was ready to blow...lol.Soon as a got home i poped the hood and sure enough thats what it was, thats when i got a little smarter and plugged it with a big ass bolt and clamped its ass.....:thumb:

Heres what parts sould be removed when yer done.....
To take off the unit remove the two bolts above the aiv and one below with a 10mm socket, than unclip the sensor underneath, remove the two small vacuum lines and the two large vacuum lines.Make sure to plug all the lines really well..
