Yet another Zenki question

Ive searched, so is there any other difference between the 95' and 96' other than the grills?

There seems to be a slight difference, based on the manufacture date, in certain parts. I believe the rotors and calipers have slight differences between '95 and '96.

95's are better cuz i have a 95, werd

95 is OBDI, 96 runs off an engine management of OBDII.

I like the 96' grill better than the 95's. Ill prob. end up getting a 95' tho. I would say a 96' is better, it has one less year to be ragged out, :thumb:.

I'm not 100% certain, but I believe that some '95s are OBDII compliant. The 1995 FSM lists engine codes in both OBD I and OBD II format.

I have a 95... how can I check if it's ODBI or ODBII?

Chedderknight 11-29-2004 06:18 PM

whats the difference in ODBI or ODBII? i find it odd that they would change the format a year later

devnull 11-30-2004 12:50 PM

OBD II is significantly more advanced than OBD I, in order to meet stricter smog control requirements. Starting in 1996, all new cars had to meet OBD II standards.

To see if your car has OBD II, check for a diagnostic port connector in the lower dashboard on the drivers side. I think it's near the hood release lever.
