SAFC NEO installation
You dumb newb! Search! Jesus what the hell is wrong with you?!
Ok I flamed myself so you don't have to. My question is do I just use the "hotwire" wiring diagram and the FSM ecu pinout to hook it up? Theres no vehicle specific instructions for the UDSM S13. On Apexi's site they have the S14 pinout, but not the S13. |
hmmm i have not worked with safc neo...... i would guess it would have every thing that the safc I and II had along with left over wires for Vtec.....
I don't know if there is a special way to hook it up other then your multiple ground source tap. ill see if Google can find anything also you would be utilizing the pin out for and 180sx etc which is N3-b on the chart they don't have usdm |
I just need an ecu pinout for the KA24DE ECU, ive looked for HOURS. I am in the car working on it as I am typing this. I have the wiring diagram and its a pain in the ass to read. Hopefully I dont screw it up. I know what each wire is I just don't know the ECU wire for power and which color wire is the MAFS sensor feed wire.

If you could get yer mitts on a KA24DE ECU Pinout chart that would be awesome cuz everything is straightfoward.
Apex harness colors never changes. So you could use those directions. And of course like Airman J said you wont be using the Karmann Sensor, Vtec wires. you just have to splice or T Connect into the ECU harness. (Is a pinout in the FSM?) I mite have one lemme search the garage. |
you dont want to use TAPS please hardwire and solder if possible..
full ECU chart/diagram http://www.plxdevices.com/ECUDatabas...iG20_89_94.pdf N3-b diagram http://img508.imageshack.us/img508/4...amsmallxz4.jpg not sure if NEO kept color code this may help also When wiring ground you must tap the ground wire twice. they have to be installed with just about an inche of space in between the two wires.. the brown wire must be the closest to the ecu..... ill make and example ----------------------X---------X-------[ECU] ...........................black......... brown http://img408.imageshack.us/img408/6...recolorir6.png ps I have a life guys lol.... i just have so much of this info on my computers already saved etc lol... |
Yeah I Hardwire and soldered when i did it.
the kit comes with those gay quick connects. Good Find Airman. That should help waaaaay more than the sucky repair manual I have. |
Biggamehit I think I love you. Somebody better put that in the SAFC section.
|
ha ha ha no prob bob
|
like I always say Airman Jackson FTW = #1

Why does the brown ground have to be closest to the ECU? I saw it like that on the diagram in the manual but I just twisted the two grounds and the two power wires together and grafted them to the wiring harness at the same point. I wired it all up but I didnt have any solder so I didn't hook up the MAFS yet. Everything else is hooked up and reading fine, but until I get solder I'm not messing with it. However, its pretty cool, It fits in the DIN pocket like it was meant to go there. I'll post up some pics when I get batteries for my camera.

Hell yeah awesome Ry get some pix up.
I love the monitoring features on that thing. |
Yeah thats why I bought it over the SAFCII. However, when I parked the car tonight it was telling me that the electrical system was running at 11.5 volts. Hopefully its just a loose wire or a hiccup. Anyways, I really like how it looks, and I've just started exploring its features.

bro just wire it up like so that may be your issue with the voltage. |
On my buddies SE-R it was reading like 14.4 volts.
Did you do the initial set-ups on the it. like with throttle open/closed? I think the main reason the wiring has to be done like that is for voltage like Airman Jackson said, I followed it best as I could everything worked fine. Get some pictures please Ry....wanna see GOOD LORDY 240! |
the throttle has nothing to do with the voltage... the unit gets its voltage reading and power from the same source.
those grounds can't be run in series like that bro. |
