Start by loosening these points and removing your belts.. if you have AC you will also have to loosen the adjuster wheel. http://img53.imageshack.us/img53/2159/hpim0245pb8.jpg http://img411.imageshack.us/img411/7966/hpim0244lw5.jpg http://img521.imageshack.us/img521/6102/hpim0251kf3.jpg 2. Take a short flathead and hammer, insert the flathead on the outside of the seal and tap lightly..once the flathead goes back, pry inward and pull the seal out http://img248.imageshack.us/img248/1275/hpim0257zn2.jpg http://img407.imageshack.us/img407/4913/hpim0258wz1.jpg 5. take a little oil and lightly lubricate the outside of the new seal and insert it.. you will have to apply alot of even strength to get it all that way in. http://img401.imageshack.us/img401/9392/hpim0261pq1.jpg http://img211.imageshack.us/img211/7771/coolaidaq5.png |
What happened to taking of your oil pan lol
you don't have to brother.. i discovered that with one of my other KA's it was so fast and simple man... took me about 35 min..... pop it out pop it in.. i was not sure how the front cover was designed until i played with one of my blown KA's
using a breaker bar and putting the car in gear you have plenty of room to loosen the center bolt on the crank pulley w/o moving the radiator. also if you're going to use a flat head screwdriver i'd like to add that caution should be used so you don't mar the time chain cover.
ok try to put it in gear bro.. it will not work.. i have been doing this for a long time lol... it will simply spin on you. and like i said its a light tap. you are not hammering away bro..................

Should I assume draining the oil is unnecessary, since all the oil should be in the pan (below the seal)? U used your fingers to put the new seal?
-no you dont have to drain the oil your guess is right
- if you look in the fsm there is stamp like tool that is used in the factory to put the seal in.. however, i didnt need it. just lube the outter section up with a bit or oil and just slightly inside and apply it evenly. |
ok well my crank pully wont come out. the first part came out but not the second im lost help me out asap
use a three jaw puller.

the FSM shows you how to do it. its simple...however can only be done with clutch and flywheel off so...... you should do it while the motor is out if you have the chance. |
