Wiring question
I have been into 240's for awhile and I like to think I have a pretty good knowledge about them, I also have been to school and I understand wire diagrams, but for some reason I can't for the life of me figure out how this works out.
http://www.********.com/archives/wir...to-an-s14.html I have these fans and I am going to install them but I am all about oem looks. He stats that this wire diagram WON'T run the fans on high all the time. Yet when I look over his diagram(I have stared at it for awhile now) it seems that when the ecu says "hey fan turn on" they will both come on, same time, same speed, so please if you have any clue how this works, could you please help me out haha, thanks in advance. |
link not working.

gay, I fixed the link and it redid the stars, replace the stars with ********

^wtf????? nico club without the space.....

i can't find a fsm to verify that those are the correct connections. so assuming the diagram is actuate, it seems that both fans would turn on and function at the same speed but not necessarily at the same time. i don't see anything in that diagram that would control the speed, but the time of start up could be the result of the different connections on the ecu.

after I pondered it a little more, could it be that one is hooked straight to the ignition wire(or hot in run) and so when the car is turned on, one comes on, and then the other is controlled by the a/c plug, that plug that goes to the single small electric fan we usually have on the s14's, this is the only solution I can come up with from his diagrams haha

huh, now I just need to figure out which wire is which, and thanks for all of your help on this.

just use a fuse to trigger the fans on...dont touch the damn ecu with any crap and completely wire anything extra to ur car with a relayed subsystem....
ive got an 89 wsr20det....trust me the cars to old to play with it electrically... |

a 40 amp relay
charged with a power wire from batt pin 87 12v frm batt pin 86 ground pin 85 switched fuse or ignition wire pin 30 is output to fan.. put one relay per fan |
that is what I was planning on doing, but I found the write up and decided I would look into, which brought all of my confusedness and the ecu wiring and blah blah blah, at the end of the day, I am going to wire it though a relay and a switch like I had the big taurus fan

dont forget to turn of fans
