Texas Smog legality
 
are the rb's legal in texas? i know that we are one of the most leaniant states, but i don't know the specifics.. help

i dont know, one guy i read just got his smogged in some other state and it passed fine. I am about to get mine done before i swap since its almost due anyway and i wont have to worry about it for a while

did u not see the sticky in the 'Engine Swaps' forum?:confused: it's not legal ANYWHERE in these United States. now, the question u need to be asking is can u get away w/it. that largely depends on whether or not ur state does a visual inspection of the motor and emissions stuff. if so, ur screwed (unless u get somebody to pass u on the d-low;) ). if ur state only does smog (read: no visual inspection), then passing should be possible according to what i've researched. if ur state has no inspections, ur home free!:bigok:

does antbody know if texas does visual inspecs, because i ready don't recall them looking at my motor..

Texas will do the smog checks is you take it to a State Inspection place where all they do in inspections. I'm not oo sure what part of Texas you're in, but here in San Antonio, I just take the car to a local tire and muffler shop and they just check lights, horn, turn signals and wipers and it passes. That will more than likely be your best bet.
