Air/Fuel Ration Question

I have install an air/fuel gage and it tends to run "rich" most of the time. Is there anything I can do to help it run more "stoch?"

Is this normal?

Thanks for any help/advice!

Guy :)

Is it a regular or wideband air/fuel? Regular air/fuel gauges are pretty much just a light show and don't work too well

I'm pretty sure it's a wideband...I spent enough on it. Is there anything I can do to get it running "stoch?"

Thanks for the repy!
Guy...

im preety sure?? if u are preety sure it means u have no idea and most likely its no, if u know u might of said yes . widebands go for around 300 bucks oh BTW most widebands have numeric displays not o nly rich schoich and lean

Well, I've had the engine bored w/ larger pilstons, forged rods, and rings, 4-1 DC header, AEM Intake, and fullcatback exhaust.

(+ water temp gauge, since the one on the dash decided to stop working).

I did not pay 300 duckets for it, it's an Autometer A/F gauge, but it still wasn't cheap. So is there anything that I can do to get it running stoich more often? It seems that even when I'm doing the speed limit (ex. 55mp) it's still running on the low end of "rich."

Thanks for any replys!

try making a custom cold air intake that should keep you busy. and see if it will make a diffrence on your guage.

here is for a golf but you can try it on a 240 and post pics lol

Oh well, still looks pretty spiffy anyhow...although I thought I was getting something I wasn't. Lesson learned...do more research before making a purchase. YES!
