ya this should be a sticky. Good post. Im can now laugh at my friend for ordering a HKS filter.

Ive got a K&N now but would like an apexi eventually.. but how would one go about cleaning the apexi filter if it was wet dirt? just hose it off i guess right?

LA_phantom_240 10-25-2006 06:11 PM

idk. It didnt say it needs maintenance. I have an Apex filter on my AEM sri.

Not sure how you would clean it either, but it definately looks like the one to get. I am tired of constantly cleaning my K&N. It is open and is always getting damn near black from dirt and crap.

air compresor and gun work realy well just don't get too close to the filter with the air gun or you'll blow a hole in it, also keep the air down to like 30psi.

Someone mentioned in another post that you can buy an airbypass filter to reduce the chance of water getting sucked into your engine for cold intakes and such. I figured I'd add this since we're on the filter topic.

Which is the AEM Air bypass filter. Goes for about 50 bucks I think. I'll eventually get this to be safe.
