a lightweight crank pulley is a bad idea. for one engines don't come with a crank pulley, they come with a harmonic balancer. the devil's in the details for a reason.

ahh. see when I had my impreza, the pulley/ whatever set felt like it gave me a lot of extra power and the engine reved a lot faster. Thats why i mentioned it, but if its not a good idea, then i wont waste my money.

lightweight crank pulleys do allow for quicker revs and result in noticeable throttle response, however they are not dampers. it's a catch 22 with lightweight undampened crank pulleys because they allow quicker higher revs. the problem is that once you reach the higher revs the undampened pulley can be detrimental.

lightweight accessory pulleys are not worth the money imo either.

sorry for being retarded but what do you mean by:

"once you reach the higher revs the undampened pulley can be detrimental".?

there two schools of thought on this and i am of those how believe that lightweight crank pulleys do not poses the necessary dampening properties that a stock pulley/ balancer has. the closer you get to redline the more stress is being placed on the crank by the pistons and what not. in a nut shell the balancer keeps the crank from vibrating to the point where something brakes.

like i said there are some who feel that what i've just said is just not so and i respect they're stand on the issue but i have by believes and stand by them.

Seems to make sense. I appreciate your info and opinion.

I know for sure im going to do the ignition coil, regrounding, and 70mm maf upgrade here pretty soon.

When I do the maf upgrade will i need to reset the ecu, and will I need a new intake?

sav180 11-16-2008 08:26 PM

you think 370 are to biig for an afc neo??

sav180 11-16-2008 08:27 PM

that couldnt b the case cuz guys run up to 550cc inj with afc

You will need an Apex'I AFC to tune for the different MAF

Intake, you shouldn't need anything
