Build Your Own Oil Cooler

So I've been looking around for Oil Coolers, and it seems the KA's get no love, So I figured I'd go on a little mission to put a Kit for use guys together. Also every other Oil Cooler kit I've seen has either been approaching the $300 mark or exceeding it, so I decided to try and keep it under $200, which I think I did a fair job at. I Do not plan on making a write up on the install as I will not be purchasing the kit anytime soon. But if you may, you could purchase the kit and complete a write up. :bigok:

Earl Oil Cooler Core (Comes w/ Mounting and -8 AN Fittings): $75
Perma Cool Oil Adpt. Sandwich 3/8 NPT In/Out (20mm x 1.5mm Is the Block Side Oil Nipple): $32

I've thought of using the automatic trans cooler as an oil cooler.

Time is money, by the time I find all the parts I needed at probably 2 recking yards I would rather just buy the parts new...

i've always wondered about the trans cooler too but i have some doubts about it. depending on the application relocating the filter might be a better option since it's cheaper than the $184. relocating the filter will cool the oil somewhat do to the increase in oil capacity and not to mention that the filter will not be on the block. those two factors alone should make it worth it if all you want is better cooling for your daily driver.
