Cat

How the hell are you supposed to take off a rusted cat, it stripped the inside of my sockets I was pulling so hard on the wrench and the bolt didnt even budge. Any suggestions?

oooooooo, i like the plasma cutter idea, i love mine! you say the bolts stripped the inside of your sockets! you must have cheap tools or something. try "pb blaster" lubricant. its the best for breaking up rusty bolts. if that doesn't work, fire up the air compressor and take a half-inch impact gun on that suka!

You sure you were using the right socket? It should fit on there snug dude... if you did, then wow you might want to get higher quality stuff.

Did you try soaking the bolts/nuts with some penetrating lubricant of some kind, like WD-40 or something? A quick trip to your nearest auto parts store should get you a nice choice of helpful chemicals :thumb:

tried pb blaster, didnt work, and yes there very cheap tools

PB didn't work either huh? Wow from here I'd just suggest to go to a muffler shop and see what they can do (cut the sucker off maybe?)

yeah, take a grinder or drill and put on one of the ends that can cut through screws and just cut the tip of the bolt off, that should take care of her. Thats what most places would do, and probably charge you $20, lol.

Torch it!!!:D
Whenever were in doubt at my garage we get the ole trusty torches and it work like a charm everytime lol
It works wonders whenever seatbelts are stuck, or windshield wipers stuck.
Seriously tho if u have access to some a little heat might do the trick:thumb:

Is there any way you can break the rust up by hitting it with hammer? Maybe a combination of that and WD40 can loosen it up.

Good luck,
Matt
