Clicking Noise
I've did some research in the forums, didn't find too much info, but it seems to point to the chain tensioner.
Anyways, I get a clicking noise coming from the engine. Most of the time, this is audible when oil is low, like a quart low. Once its been refilled, then the noise tends to go away or become softer. It's coming from the engine. It sound like something slapping together. Any ideas. |
is it louder rite before it shifts gears?
if so its rod bearings. |
No, the noise is pretty consistent. Just more frequent when the motor is spinning up.

Thought about your timing chain ?
|
Well, its not actually the timing chain, it is the timing chain rubbing against the timing chain guides. pain in the ass to take out, but if they break, you get 100 plastic pieces inside your motor

Not that bad to change, I change my chain (upper) + the tensionner and it's not a pain. Both chain is a diffenrent story

I have sort of the same problem I think, did you fix it chester? I put my valve cover's back on after I took out my timing chain guides and the rattling sound went away but there is this sound that something is making contact. any ideas? I want to know if it's bad or if I could keep driving my car that way.
