Cold-Air Intake Duct

Another "almost free mod". I fixed a custom air-cooling duct that enters thru the bumper opening and goes to the hole where it meets the OEM plastic ducts and fits up against each other perfectly. Cools the engine better going down the road. In doing this i had to first remove the resinator box. It works kind of like a Ram-Air.

it looks good... and from what you say it works too... if you are any good with fiberglass you can make a vent that will funnel the air into the tube a lot better than just driving... like the window vents on nascar cars that suck in air to help cool the brakes or the driver...

I think im going to get a cone filter, but it'll be bad in the rain.

it won't be bad in the rain

the only time it would be bad is if the cone filter gets submerged in standing water or a puddle and water gets sucked into the intake by force. If the cone filter is sitting up high in the stock position in the engine bay (as opposed to behind the bumper, as in cold-air intake design) then don't worry it'll be fine

you should do a search in these forums because i heard about somebody in this forum doing a ram air and it messed up their MAF sensor. I think it had something to do with going at highway speed while depressing the clutch for a period of time.

Yeah, its fun. I think its faster because you shift higher than the auto does. But i dont know, i forgot where the rev. limit is.

KA loseds power at 5.5k. Anyways, why you put the piping on the box upwards? Point it downwards if you can so it can directly get the cold air coming in.
