im gonna convert my belt driven fan to an electric fan so my motor wont strain as much anymore.....does anyone no wat size belt i need to use after the change over?

why not remove the fan altogether and install a set of electrical fans??? unless you are meaning turning your water pump into electric drive like on race motors... but even then the fans are still removed so there is no additional drag on the electric waterpump motor... the belt would depend on the size of the electric motor pully being used... pitch and width of that pully will decide what size of belt you need for the conversion... i would think this would be easier...(taken from this board)

i'm gonna take out the fan and put an electric fan. but im still gonna have the water pump run wit the belt...wait...if i take jus the fan of...i wouldnt need to change the belt wood i?

No need to change belts unless you're replaceing the belt driven waterbump with an electric one, Just unbolt the fan/clutch remove it, put the nuts back on and tighten and you're done.

Many people do this and get a fan or two. I myself had 2 10" Sentra fans, this 240sx i'm gonna get a 3.8L taurus fan.

n did u guys feel a difference in this upgrade?

I have the Flex-a-lite Twin-Line electric fans, I hooked it up to the AC fan power (removed the ac fan for the twins) and shorted the relay to give power to the fans but not turn on the AC's clutch, So the switch inside the car for the AC turns on only the AC clutch ;)


The Fans run full time and its better for the life of the engine and all its parts to run cooler, I also installed a nice 149 degree thermostat too, So now the heater blows warm air, never really gets hot :)


And yes the car seems to have a little bit more power, it just seems stronger when you step on it, like when the cars cold

Found this after I figured it out on my own, its pretty much the same but I wired things differently.

I still have AC yes, When I hit the AC switch in the car the AC clutch is started and the air blows cold, Before the switch started the AC clutch and the electric fan, witch was also with the belt driven fan to help cool the added heat, now it only controls the clutch alone so i still have AC


You could put a switch in the car but then run the problem of forgetting to turn it off and drain the battery, but its your call,

You can, if you have better wiring skills then me, wire it into the ignition power so it can only run when the car is on and shuts off when you turn off the car.

thats wat i was thinkin of doin.or to somethin that has 12v when the car is on

oh yah...is that setup for the link the same as an s13?
