which exhaust system?
As you can see I am a newbie. I read that thread about the myths about exhaust because I am currently in the market to buy a systm for my 1990 240. I have read that the Apexi N1 is a big choce of most people on that thread. I am not sure if I should get the dual or the single. I want great sound and power. I know that I can get both of those very easaly but for that which system shuld I buy?

I got mine custom made, to me thats the best way to go.

I've always like the look of duel tips coming out the back, and from what I've heard the duel is a little quieter.
|
I love the looks of single tips.
Can anyone confirm if duals are a lil quieter? |
single is way quieter, trust me, i know this dude who had the duals and you could here him from a mile away
|
Duals are louder not quieter. At least that's what I hear!
|
It depends on the muffler, pipe ect..
You can get a 4" single exhaust with a very cheap muffler & it could be a hell of alot louder than a dual exhaust with 2 good quality mufflers. Remember good mufflers are not that much of a restriction. I have seen straight pipe( like glaspak mufflers) that restrict ALOT more than a 2 chamber flowmaster. |
What do you think about Apexi's N1 systems?

I'm running an AEM Single Pipe, and I don't think I'd trade it for any dual system on the market. I like the look of a single pipe on a 240 and, IMO, duals on a 4 banger is kinda ricy.
That's just how I look at it. Take Care, -Dave |
this dude had the duals on a 98 240 and it sounded kinda airy... if that makes sense. anyway, i didnt lyk it.
