Fuel Filter

Im getting ready to do a full tune up this weekend, and I have heard people talking about using the 300zx fuel filter. Has anyone done this? Any noticeable benefits? Is it worth it or should I just stick with the 240 filter?

i use a 300zx filter. it just provides more flow.....
i highly doubt there would be a HP increase.
but it is like twice the size of the stock unit..
will come in handy when you increase fuel preasure.

It really doesn't provide more flow. It just has a bigger filter screen. I think most people recommend it though since some places sell it cheaper than 240 filters.

i've never seen the Z32 fuel filter fuel flow rating.
but an educated guess would think that since the Z32 uses more fuel it would need a filter that wasn't quite as restrictive.

Yeah, but the Z's pump runs a higher pressure. Since the in and out holes on the filter are the same size as the 240's I don't see how it'd let more fuel into the engine. It may withstand higher pressure better.... but I haven't seen anywhere that says it does. Either way it'd be a waste with a stock fuel pump (if it costs more). So I'd just buy whatever's cheaper.

The deal with the 300zx fuel filter is that it is larger, and provides a larger filtration surface, which makes it last longer than the smaller 240sx one. The flow isnt changed cause like what has been said, ur not changing nething in te fuel system, just the filter. People that say they have noticed a big change, it is more likely that u were due for a new filter and are noticing that change. The 300zx one is cheaper oddly so mine as well use it.

thats my take...
