hey guys quick question from a newbie

hey guys... i just got my 92 240 and i want to do a full tune up.. in just a round about figuare how much do you think the full tune up would run me? im going to do oil, wires, plugs, filters, and mabe sensors. Also does anyone have any other suggestions on what i should check before i put the car on the road (engine wise)? thanks,
Chuckie

radiator and tranny flush would probably be a good idea. And using seafoam is also something worth thinking about.

are you doing it yourself or hacin someone do it?

Having someone do it, oil is like $60.oo

Plugs- what type? normal should be around $25.oo for a set.
Wires- Around $45.oo for a set.
Air filter? idk, around 5-10 bucks?

No idea about sensors, figure somwhere between 140 and 250.

:)

CLEAN YOUR ENGINE! woot, replace the gear oil (tranny fluid) too.

Just a suggestion If your motor has 100K on it if your sticking with the stock ka build up in the futur you might want to look into replacing your timing chains guides tensioner and water pump..I did it on mine and set the timing made my motor run alot stronger.

all belts if they don't look new, spark cables, spark plugs, distrybutor cap and rotor, oil, oil filter, tranny fluid flush, lubrication of chasis (this is very very important), brake fluid flush, power steering fluid flush, chekc coolant hoses, and air vacum hoses. air filter update (K&N?), sea foam, carburator cleaner for intake, injector preasure flush, Gas filter, O2 check (get it runign hot, then test the single cable on positive, negative on the chasis, shoudl be betwen.1 and .9 volts) anythign like .8 its old, but ok, anythign less replace)

Preasure washign its ok. peopel have said to cover the Alternator, cover the Distributor. Lies. just be carefull about sprayign the distributor too close, water might get in. If its the case, take it apart dry it with a blow dryer. The car NEEDS to be water proof.

yeah i was about to post that the engine bay is designed to handle some water, but a direct hit from a pressure washer on certain electrical components may damage them, wrap things in tin foil you might accidentaly hit just to be safe
