I think I am going to snap

I have been trying for god knows how long to locate a butterfly that I could use to replace the one in my current throttle body if I were to enlarge it to 65mm. No one, as far as I can tell, sells butterflies individually. You have to buy an entire throttle body from them. I just need the butterfly, waffer, or whatever you want to call it. Does anyone know where I can get one? If I don't find one soon I think I am going to loose it.

find a car that has a throttle body matching yours then go junkyard hopping. thats my best advice.

well i would need to find a car that comes stock with a 65mm throttle body and then try and get the butterfly from that one onto my bored out 240 throttle body.

do some searching on various cars that might have that 65mm TB...

Off the top of my head... a Mustang 5.0 has a large throttle body I think... or was that the MAF?

Dude there's got to be a car with a 65 in it... check up on the domestic boys V8's.. getting a used TB would probably be more cost efficient too from a domestic since probably the only imports that use a 65 or > are like baller NSX's or something :thumb:

I could be wrong but I believe the 5.8L Mustang V8 engine has a 65mm TB.

I hope 5.8 was a typo :D

ROTFL, yes, I meant to type 4.6L. Have NO idea how I typo'd that one! Anyways, the engine I'm talking about is the 32-Valve 4.6L DOHC V8 which is available in the Mach 1 and the SVT Cobra (supercharged, but same engine nonetheless). I think the SOHC 4.6L V8 has a slightly smaller throttle body.

Now I wonder how many Mach 1's and SVT's are already in a junkyard :dunno:
