intake
I'm struggling on how to get intake for my 1990 240. every where i go they say that they are unable to get any for my car. What the hell.. Is this true????

Moved to N/A. How bout you get a intake from ebay for the KA24E, then swap out the filter for a K&N or better filter. OR, just do the filter and thats it. Not much of a difference.

a pipe is a pipe just slap on a good filter.

something like that? then just buy the filter? if i wanted to actually go cold air and put it somewher in the bumper what options do i have? the injen one probably doesnt bolt up, is building my own piping a good alternative? |
Yes buying your own piping is a great alternative, some people have bought 2 of those ebay intakes and done a full on CAI, you have to relocate the battery though. And thats exactly what I was talking about, but get one for your year.

Check eBay, but be prepared to not have much choice. I've been looking for intake stuff for my '89, and because it's not the DE motor there are fewer choices. No the intakes for the '91- cars will not fit without modification, the throttle body is in a different location...

Maybe you guys can clear up an argument between myself and my girlfriend. She is hell bent (for some unknown reason) to put a K&N FIPK on my '93. I on the other hand want to do more of a short ram type deal. Does anyone have any pros (and cons are welcome as well) to putting on the FIPK from K&N?!?

I've only heard about pros from K&Ns FIPK

I had the same problem so I bought an HKS cold air intake and ran it to the buttom with pipers I constructed my self out of PCV pipes I bought at Home Depot . It works great I turned the piper the way I needed them, I then used PCV pipe glue to seal them, then I grinded down some of the writing on then and sanded them down so they are nice and smooth and then I spray painted them chrome. I put on a few layers of chrome paint and no one has noticed they are plastic they look realy good and PCV pipes don't conduct heat as fast as metal does. Give it a shot.:thumb:

Yeah so have I and I would hate to be proven wrong, but my girlfriend knows her stuff. She's been modding cars since she was in high school!! I've only been doing since maybe my senior year in high school. Thanks for the input HyJynX!
