No you're right. Also, the DE pushes 155 instead of 140hp and 160ft-lb of torque. Not sure on the torque on the E, bu it's less.

AmIdYfReAk 06-26-2004 05:26 PM

i was pritty srue that the power on the Ka24E was 120Hp/140Ftpounds

Kurbee23 06-26-2004 10:04 PM

no...thats backwards...its 140 and 120...round there at least

Juvenate° 06-26-2004 10:11 PM

I believe it's 140hp & 152 lb/ft for the KA24E

ArticDragon 06-27-2004 10:50 AM

Yeah, Juvenate° is right. Those are the numbers on the KA24E. Checked those numbers yesterday.

The single cam isn't a bad engine, but its easier to do anything to the car if u had the DE in there to start. Swaps are easier and more available parts for the DE...

ArticDragon 06-28-2004 10:15 AM

I've read on anotehr forum too that the SOHC has a broader torque band. True, it doesn't reach as high as the DOHC, but it's more spread out.
