ka24de question

im looking to buy a ka24de and i was wondering on ebay the only ka is see is from an altima would that matter if i put that engine on the 240?

motegineon 09-26-2006 10:09 PM

dont work

It won't work man, the altima is a transversed mounted engine, meaning that sensor's are in different locations, and the distrbutor is also mounted parallel to the block.

damn well anybody know any sites that sell ka24de ive been looking and havent found any sites except ebay

the alitma will work, you need to swap heads and you will be fine. you will need to use a rwd oil pan. they use different water pumps so if you do that make sure you remember that its a fwd water pump. use www.car-parts.com you can find alot of parts that way.

if i just kept my ka24e and rebuilt it and turbo'd it would it have just as much potential as a ka24de?

im selling a 1990 240sx (full car) with a KA motor. It has approx. 130,000 miles...it turns on and runs, but the water pump is bad and heats up real quick. Would need a rebuild. The car is in miami, Fl...

i was asking $600, but ive lost the key since then. I can get that issue straightend out if your interested...

plus a singlecam is pretty unique. and its still a 2.4 the only thing that may be considered a downside is that its single cam. if you havent been on ka-t.org yet check it out. they've got a single cam turbo section. a while back some guy built a twin turbo single cam. it was pretty tight.

i dunno, i doubt an e would keep up with a de. the de has a much higher end and a much lower chance of turning into metal cornflakes at redline

Lets see...

same bore
same stroke
lower compression

The E is a fine motor the big differences are:
3 valves per cylinder
Single Cam
No Oil Squirters

Build an E up, performance cams are cheaper...

zenkislider 10-02-2006 09:09 AM
