massive oil leak, ayudame!
 

i've had an oil leak in my KA for over a year now and it didnt used to be much worse than .5 or 1 quart per oil change, but now its getting so bad, i have to add a quart or 2 every 1000-1500 miles, and its wasting my money. i dont wanna throw a grand down at a dealer, so i bought UV leak detector die from Kragens, and it didnt work. i can see oil coming out, but my engine is so gunked up with **** that even a pressure washer doesnt clean it enough to see new drops. any ideas to fix this? i desperately need a fix thanks:dunno: :crap:

dont have a gauge, but whats weird is when i slam on the brakes to a dead stop, the rpms drop to around 300- 400 and it dies sometimes. could that be a oil pressure issue?

ps. i officially hate the KA:mad:

check your front seal behind the crank pulley. for starters.

I think that's where my leak is.

replace all gaskets....lol....clean the motor with motor cleaner....then put like some kind of paper tape so where the leak is i'll bleed through, tape a few lil peices to the head/block to see if your leaking there....or just tape where you think its coming from.....good luck!

I got a massive leak also on my s14, yesterday I cleaned the hell out of the underside of the motor with engine brite and I am going to drive it around for a little to see where it is leaking. Your best bet is to pull the motor out and do all the seals and gaskets, that is what I am going to do. Plus I am going to rebuild my head since it is out.

as stated your oil seal behind the crank pulley is a good place to start.

the rpms dropping could be a number of things.

well ****. this is something that i dont want to spend more than $100 or 3 hours on. i just wanna get it back to good condition without taking the motor out or replacing ALL the gaskets when it could just be one... or none. thanks for the tips. ill start with engine brite and crank pulley.
