Mechanical Fan
Anyone know how to remove the Mechanical fan on the ka24e and do I need to replace it with an electric fan or will it be fine without it?

goto ********** and into installs
|
its real simple their should be like 4 blots on the front which go into the fan its self then their are 4 nuts behinde that and there you go cluch fan is gone
|
You're probably going to need some sort of fan there if you remove the stock mechanical one, or temps will rise quick... BTW there isn't really much you gain from removing the stocker anyways - unless your engine is super built :D
|
I disagree. If your engine is super built then the clutch fan doesn't make much difference(on or off)
***You do need some kind of fan...or you get problems. but when you engine is underpowered putting an electric fan makes a bigger difference in power. If my engine had 200+hp then i would have left the clutch fan on. |

did you replace the rad?
and is it worth it to do so? im in the 200+HP N/a race :) |
what is the rad ?
|
rad = radiator
it probably depends on the temp in your area. I live in miami so it's always hot! check out my install: http://www.geocities.com/anyfeature/index.html it might not be the best but the relay might come in handy. |
i took the mech fan off of my 92 KA. If you have the AC fan on the radiator, you can rewire it to run on the fuel pump fuse. it isnt a large fan, but i dont have any overheating issues.
if you need more info let me know, djhall2@wisc.edu -Enzo |
Originally posted by l2aine so you're running a KA with no fan whatsoever? yeah man no problems so far. and i went on a trip to the beach which i drove 600km that weekend :( and no overheating no problems. i dont feel any difference any more maybe cause im use to it. it just makes your engine quicker reving thats all |
