N/A KADE build-up

Hey guys,

I had my car on a dyno yesterday and was very impressed with the results - I will post the dyno sheet on Monday

151 whp and 157wtq !

Not bad with just bolt-ons. Here are my mods:

JWT Stage 1 re-programmed ECU
Unorthodox Racing Pulley Kit
Injen cold-air intake
Hotshot Headers
Apexi Cat-Back exaust
Fidanza Flywheel

The Torque line was increadible - it shot straight up all the way to 7200 rpms! I'm going to get the JWT Camshafts with some fuel management and will dyno it again - I'll keep you guys posted!

cool dude!

I would've thought you could make more than that with a reprogrammed ECU though.
hmm..

I think the result was not that bad..... there's definately some room for improvement at some points through out the A/F ratio curve. I'm going to try to install a S-AFC and try to fine tune it.
I figure that with the 30% drivetrain loss it nets about 190hp to the crank (if that theory is correct??)... I'll keep posting any improvements!

Thats pretty good, i got mine dynoed at 135whp and 149tq, that was with espiler cat back and a K&N cone filter. But now i have NGK laser platinum plugs, and Amsoil, noticable difference!

What fuel were you using?????? Those aren't impressive results if you are using 91 octane or higher, and an ecu tune with allof those bolt on's. I don't have my ecu tune yet, but when I do I know I will make more power than that........
I plan to make more than this dyno after my tune.....
(header, unorthodox pulley, CAT back exhaust, JWT tune, 107 octane)
169WHP, 170FT/LB.s torque @ the wheels

i hate to say bro... but your in for a big surprise when you dyno yours.... I sure hope you reach those number, but it will be tough.... I always run Sunoco 94 octane and I have a very healthy engine - 195psi compresion on all 4 cly. The numbers I mentioned was the best out of 4 runs on a dynojet dyno. The numbers I made are nothing to brag about, but it's respectable. I remember seeing that a bone stock 240sx puts out about 120hp to the wheels(not too sure about the exact number)..... it's a decent improvement

JWT obviously didn't tune your ecu. They probably had it sitting around and sent it back with out the tune and charged you.....
To tell you the truth I have seen better results with complete bolt ons and no tunes.......
A bone stock KA24de pulls about 123WHP, and about 129WHP on a third gear HP pull.

I let you know what my pull will be on 107Octane and my results will probably be better.
In all honesty I have seen 12~15WHP on a tune by itself with no other modifications, and the use of 91 octane. I would defenitely complain to JWT and let them know that the results are not very comparitive to that of the dyno I showed you. Even using 107 Octane won't show that much more room for gains (probably 5 donkeys at the most).....

Rod I'm not hatin' on your ride, I am simply saying that your ECU wasnt tuned at all. I've done research on just exhaust systems and they pull pretty close to 21WHP in the 2.5" exhaust, hi flow CAT, and performance header. That means on the dyno the KA engine would relatively pull 144WHP. Then you also stated that you have an aluminum flywheel and aluminum crank pulley which on average pulls an additional 5WHP in high end HP. That would bring you to about 149WHP. Intake would at the most gain an additional 4whp for a total of 153WHP.

yep ... Vinnie knows his stuff dude, and when you look at it, it all makes sense.

O/T-
I'm getting my Header, hi-flow, and exhaust next month. Can't WAIT to feel the difference! :-)

I usually run 87-89 octane, do you guys use octane boosters?
Also, i thought 91 octane was used for turbo motors? I may be ingnorant, just let me know. Thanks

Rod here is another dyno that I picked up with just header, pulley and cold air intake. pretty much the same relative numbers that I mentioned. It made 144WHP with no tune, no CAT back exhaust, or aluminum fly wheel...... This dyno used the recomended 91octane for testing.....

Chips suck! But Anyway Rod to put your ECU to the test do you have a Buddy or something that could lend you a Stock ECU and do a seat of the pants Comparo.
