New Head Gasket Now Car wont start?

SOHC KA24E Engine

I bought this car with a blown head gasket i figured no big deal i'll just put a new one in. So when i bought the car it ran and started fine it just smoked from the head gasket leaking. I installed a new gasket last night and after i put it all back together the car wouldn't start. so i took it all apart and checked the timing and alined the keys on the cam gear and crank gear facing up like shown in my book. I put it all backtogether and it still wont start almost like i have a spark problem it wont even try to turn over it just keeps cranking. Any ideas? I'm out of ideas now.

i checked the groundwires and the spark and everything looks in order theres spark and the ground wires are nice and tight i dont know what to due further so.... I'm just going to go ahead and do a engine swap thinks for the help but this SOHC engine is a piece of **** anyways the car sat awhile so its kinda rusted.

so you have spark at the plugs but it wont start... one thing to check is to make sure that the fuel lines are on the right way... if you swapped the fuel lines around it will not receive enough fuel to start... try switching the fuel lines around and then try to start it again...

if everything is good with spark, fuel, and air, recheck ur timing. who knows you could be one tooth off with ur distributor.

yeah i bet the timing is off at the distributor i'll check that thanks.

sometimes it can take a few cranks of the engine and pumpin the gas pedal sometimes as long as 2 or 3 mins solid to get a engine to fire up.
