Newbie question

Im looking to tune my 240. I have SOHC but will be doing a SR swap after i finish my body work. I was wondering about the stock exhaust set up. If i were to change it and buy say an exhaust with 2.5 inch piping, would it bolt up to the existing stock piping or would i need to change and modify all exhaust components. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

it will bolt up to the cat... they are inthe same place... cat back means it is ready to go from where the stock cat ends...
