Now what's the matter with you?

I just picked my car up from the shop today. I got a new rear O2 sensor, speed sensor, and evap canister/vent control valve. Oh yeah, and a new cat too, since mine was clogged really bad.

So, I drove it back to emissions, paper came out saying the OBD wasn't ready yet. Not a problem.. I can come back in a day or two.

Well, I almost got all the way home and the damn check engine light popped on AGAIN! WTF?!? I'm taking it back to the mechanic tomorrow since he said bring it back if the light comes back on..

But WTF could possibly be wrong this time? We got a '97 O2 rear sensor by mistake when he ordered the parts.. we put it on the car anyway since they're both OBDII. That couldn't be causing the problem though.. or could it?

I know, none of you can tell me what's wrong on the computer.. but I just had to vent. GRR! I'm going to go cry now.

pretty sure the o2 sensor year wouldnt be a problem... make aure all the new stuff you got is hooked up correctly... this stuff is why i didnt buy an obdll car

Yeah, it makes me wish I had a '95 240 right now.

Did you check your ecu codes????

JessicaS14 10-13-2005 09:35 AM

No.

I didn't check anything. I'm taking it back to the shop though. He will hook it up to the computer and take a look at everything for free for me. He's a cool guy.

So you don't look retarded to the mechanic let him know that you want a launch diagnostic, it is what mechanics use to check OBD 1 and 2.

The ECU code check is one of the easiest and quickest things you could do whenever that damn MIL goes on =)

Fast1One 10-19-2005 09:43 PM

You could always buy an ECU checker thingy at autozone...do it yourself. Only if you have OBD II of course...

Im sure there is another way. For the Maxima after you do a procedure it blinks the CEL a certain number of times and tells you what the code is...is the 240 the same way?
