Pipe to airbox?

Whats the pipe from the airbox to that black box 6 inches away from it for? I bought an air filter and an adaptor plate and want to throw that on. Temp until I buy an full intake. Can I plug that hose and have no worries? Thanks

K, Heres yer pic boys and girls.

Here is the pic, I was thinking of just adding a breather to that black box you can see in the top center of the picture. If it just needs air I would assume this idea would work? For now it is plugged. Suggestions.

its for your aiv valve, do a search on it, you can remove that and the black box that zhent is talking about to free up some room. when removed its supposed to make your car idle a little smoother

well you have emision laws, so keep it attached. do what 240 5spd said, even though that hose is actually recirculating the gas back to the intake mani.. you don't have the stock air box. so using that breather would be your best bet
