please put an end to the piston swaping madness (ka24e-ka24de)
ok so i know for a fact ka24e pistons in a ka24de block make a higher compression but how do u know if u have a 9.1:1 or a 8.9:1 i looked up a TSB on the ka24e and they said any1 with a IAT has 8.9:1 c/r i have an 1989 240sx made in 1988 (early release or at least thats what the vin says) with an IAT so im gonna say i have a 8.9:1 which if swapped into a ka24de will give me a 11.1:1 c/r but the 9.1:1 swapped in a DE it goes to 11.6:1
thats what all the forums say now where can you get forged pistons for a ka24de and ka24e i have a buddy trying to build a nice engine for his 240 (ka24de) then me trying to build a ka24de (high comp) and a teacher at skool building a ka24e (stock rebuild but his son wants forged) anyone know where to get these pistons at? ka24e -9.1:1 ka24de -9.5:1 thanks guys |
The DE is 9.5:1 Stock
The 9.1:1 '88 KA24E piston has less dish that the 8.9:1 '89 KA24E piston. I have never found the 9.1:1's for sale... IMHO, the 0.2:1 difference isn't enough to worry about in the long run |
