Power Windows

For the last week my driver's side power window has a hesistation whenever I press the button to let it down. Sometimes it takes five or six presses of the button before it moves...what's the problem?

do you here a grinding or crackeling and then the window goes down?
if so it most likely means that your regulator is faulty. best thing to do is to take the panel off and look at the track guide and regulator and see what it does as you press the button.

There's no sound. It just doesn't move until all of a sudden it does.

i don't think it's power related. but a good way to find out w/o taking anything apart is to turn on the car and your dash lights. push the butten for the window to go down.

the power window motor will draw enough current that the lights
will dim. if they don't go dim right away then it could be a loose conection.

if they go dim right away but the window doesn't move then there's a problem with the track guieds or window motor.

this works best at night because you can see the light dim even if they only dim slightly when you push the botton.

They dim right away whenever the window doesn't move. I'll take the cover off and check it sometime this week. Thanks!
