Question about S-AFC..
 

I've been observing alot of posts regarding S-AFC settings and what not..
Now my car is basicly stock as of the time being, so I'm not really worried about needing to use any fuel management system (or what ever the **** it does..) but I would just like to have a through understanding of how the S-AFC works.

What exactly does it do to increase performance?

When "should" you have one, and when "should you not" have one?

Like I've said in many of my posts, I'm not dumb, I just need it to be explained WELL to me once. (And naturally all my serches turned up many results, except for the ones I'm looking for.)

Well theres no way that was the first thing i thought of...
What I'm looking for, which I should have stated originally is a more personal and comprehensive explaination of how it's installed, how it's "TUNED", and what entering any new settings into the unit does to the vehicle?
Does it interupt and manipulate the signals from different sensors already in the car going to the ECM?
Or are there connectors there that you don't see on all of the glamour shots on that web page?
I also know there are wiring diagrams that you supposedly can download; according to my computer however, I cannot support Japanese text. Thats why I'm asking here. I'm just not familiar with those things because so far in my short car tuning career it just hasn't come up yet for me to learn.

For ducumentation on wiring it for us cars go to apexi-usa.com. In the products section of the website their is a link for product documentation. Scroll down to safc us update. The link is in adobe and is in english. In terms of setting their is not really any universal setting that will work for all cars. Just use common sense. Dyno tuning is by far the safest method of tuning it and you might as well wait until you have more extensively modded your car car until you purchase one.

Sorry to double post, but I forgot to answer you question on how it works. The safc manipulates your the signal from your map, maf, whatever and sends the new signal to your ecu. This in turn tells your computer to either increase or decrease the amount of fuel put out by your injectors. Installation is a pain in the ass at first (moving wires around the ecu), but fairly straight forward after that. The unit comes with all if the connectors that you will need for install. It is a great addition if you are turbo charging your car and putting in larger injectors, an adj. fuel pressure regulator. Overboost.com did a write up of it a couple of years ago and you can still acess it through the search.

No problem. I have one and use it just for monitoring mostly, until I go turbo with the car.

If thats the case than wouldn't you want a AVC-R???? Whats the difference betwee the two??

avc-r is a boost controllerand has nothing to do with fuel
