questions about rebuilding KA

I am about to pull my DE and I am thinking of rebuilding while it is out.. it has 123k miles on it. What should I really be looking at while I rebuild it? Should I rebuild at this milage?

I was thinking new gaskets and the complete timing chain kits. I am also looking at putting the E flat top pistons in as well.
Most pistons come with rings right?
I read that DE rods are shotpeened are they forged as well?

My goal is not gigantic HP.. just something a little more fun to drive. Around the 200hp mark.

but to give you some answers... the sohc pistons should come with rings... the rods are shot peened but not forged... the crank is said to be forged...

when rebuilding the motor get new timing componantes... as well as new tensioners... new bearings for the rods and mains... and new gaskets all the way around...

Looking at gaskets...
Is a kit made for a ka24de in an altima any different than a kit made for a de in a 240sx?
