s14 rear toe/camber questions
 

Alright, here's the deal.....

I just installed these new adjustable rear-uppers on my bro's s14 to help adjust for negative camber. My goal was to be able to adjust out most of the camber, and set the toe to 0. When installing them I discovered a problem....

I was not aware that the rear suspension had 2 upper control arms. Here are my questions... How can I adjust camber without affecting the toe-in/out setting?

Do I need to purchase another part to make this rear setup completely adjustable?

Is is common for the rears to toe-out when lowering the supsension...because if it's stock geometry? I only ask now because is appears the rears are toed out an 1/8" off of center....

You can't because of how the multi-link suspension itself is designed. When you lower the rear of an S14 with OEM arms you'll get major camber and major toe-in.

If you just use adjustable upper camber arms, you can get the wheel aligned up to a certain point. If you lower your car really low, then you cross that point and your rear OEM toe rods will be out of their adjustment range.

You'll need toe rods to compensate if the factory toe setting bolt is maxed out. If you go really low you'll want the tractin rod (the forward upper link) as well to keep from inducing bump-steer.

Sorry about the incorrect forum posting guys, I'm a newbie... I appreciate the feedback. My problem right now is just the fine tuning. I have a jig made for measuring front/rear camber.....I just have to dial in the rear-lower link on the back suspension to adjust the toe in/out. I'll measure the rears off of the car's center line.

I am just finishing replacing some seals on the oil pan, the lower front main seal, the valve cover gasket, and the water pump......what a pain.
