stock 240sx top speed??

can anybody tell me whats the top speed of a stock 89 240sx? my speedo dosent work , i know that on the 5th gear at 4000rpm the motor shuts down , and starts back at 3000rpm

1st question : how can i repair my electronic speedo?

2nd question : how hard is a dual guage conversion( saw one on the fast abck vesion)

3rd question : how can i '' easily'' unlock my top speed?

my car is completely stock! but it sucks to have a very low top speed !

speed cut is set at 115mph, Im hearing that you can just unplug your 4th and 5th gear sensors off your tranny to lose the speed cut. For some reason it didnt work on my car.

If ur doin it that way u also need to install a switch to cut the speedo signal. A switch cause when u kill it u lose the speedo display.

On my stock 92 I have burried the speedo past 180km/h while still accelerating....it never cut out, do all the cars have a limiter?

There is a reason there is a limiter at 115. The car is not meant to handle higher speeds in stock form. I wouldn't recommend taking off the limiter without brake upgrades/suspension work. Just seems dumb to me. How are you gonna stop while doing 140?

is there some years or models they have it and some that dont? i have a 95 se 5 speed and it dont kill at 115. i have got it up to 125 (just to see if it would) and it never cut off and would have done some more. but it would have taken alot more road to get more cause there wasnt alot of power left and some where between 1000 to 1300 rpms left. just alittle confused..
