swapping a ka24de into a 90 240sx...
i don't know if this has been mentioned before here. I am planning to do a ka24de swap into my 1990 nissan 240sx. i want to ditch the sohc and go with the dohc engine. it seems pretty strong and has alot of potential. i just want to know what i will need for this swap. i heard that both engines shared the same bottom block and transmission, but im not sure. any suggestions would be great!

I seem to remember someone posting on here that you can just swap the heads, unless the newer motor has less miles but otherwise a head swap would be easier.

well i did the same thing a year ago and if i remember right i just changed the ecu and the harness the power steering is on the oppiste side and the ac lines are to so you have to make them longer. other than that i cant think of anything else right now.

you will need:
-engine (complete with MAF, pipe, etc.) -harness -ECU -power steering lines -custom A/C lines SOHC tranny are the same. its a yank out and drop in thing. i have done many single to dual swaps in less than a day. |
ya, im looking to swap my SOHC to the DOHC then build it up from there, mainly for drifting. is it really true that you can use the same block?

I have a question for this thread as well, I have an 89 240sx and am getting a 95 240sx engine, does it matter what year the ECU is? I'm thinking 95-98 ecu's are the same but I am not for sure. Thanks
