transmission oil

I need to change the grease in my tranny. How do I drop the linkage so I can remove my shifter to re-fill the tranny or is there any other way to re-fill the tranny?

I assume you mean standard transmission.
There is a drain plug on the bottom & a fill plug on the side.

Also it's gear oil. Not grease.
Use 90 weight

if you got money..use redline gear oil :)

Project Cheap13 06-04-2004 05:09 AM

If it's a racer yeah.
But I use Super Tech syn in just about everything.( Yes the Super Tech from Wal-Mart). Refined by Pennzoil & put in a Wal-Mart bottle.

apparently redline 75w-90 with frictional modifiers is the best for lsd, racing, or break in

otherwise a synthetic 75w-90 for daily driver

if you cant get to the fill plug ive heard you can unscrew the shifter and pour it in there too.

I was thinking of doing the same to my 95 S14... is the method the same (drain plug, fill plug locations?)... also, do you have to drop the tranny out of the car just to do it, or can it be done on jack stands?

Yes. No. Yes.
