Weird Leakage?!?!?!

Ok, Today when I did a sharp turn into my drive way I noticed a nice little "fluid" trail after i got out of my car. I traced it to my car, (lucky me) so I investigated the leaking fluid. I could not find any leakage from the radiator then i hear it, the dripping! Its coming from the back of the engine bay, on the firewall! Its this hose coming out of it, dripping! I never payed attention to this before but does anyone know what the hell its for and if the leaking is normal? Theres no leaking from the engine at all, just from this hose thats pointing down from the firewall!

I searched the forum but only found bad radiators, hoses and head gaskets. So does anyone know? thanx.

what type of fluid was it? color? smell?

ramnailz 05-19-2006 01:04 PM

Couldn't tell the color because it was on the street but it smelled like coolant. All i know is that it was coming from the hose on the firewall. Does anyone know what it is why it leaks?
Here's a pic:

are you sure its not fluid(h20) coming from running your a/c? lol

ramnailz 05-19-2006 02:03 PM

Well, its not from my a/c. Is that what that hose is for?

+1 on the ac

motegineon 05-22-2006 10:09 PM

if it just drops down like that in the pic and is like 6in. long and just cut off, then yea thats for the ac

thanx, I looked up the a/c diagram and I guess its in that area. Never seen that though. Thanx, I'm an idiot. Still learning. LOL!

I could be wrong but it looks like its a heater core hose.????

ramnailz 05-23-2006 01:48 PM

The heater core? All I know is that the heating and cooling systems are next to each other under the dash. So I'm pretty much assuming is H2O.

motegineon 05-23-2006 03:17 PM

most likely, thats what that hose is for, when the condensation builds up it drips out the hose..
