where should the 240sx idle?

My 240 is falling under 1000 rpm, when i first turn it on and then the car turns off. where should the car be idle'n? and how do i adjust this? :dunno:

DiZZy 12-22-2002 09:11 PM

maybe you shoulda swapped out the auto ecu for a 5speed one :p

spitz7985 12-22-2002 09:24 PM

when warm, my idle is at like 750

StanBo 12-22-2002 10:10 PM

750 @ 160 degrees farenheit.

Car sounds like it has some problems.

I know mine is starting up at 30 degrees and I wait until 120 before I start to move.

It could be that, but this used to happen even with the auto tranny, so i think it could be something else. any way to adjust the idle point? :spin:

did you get the FSM yet?

twisted_240 12-25-2002 12:43 PM

the 240 should idle at 1000rpm when its cold, and 750rpm when warm...straight out of the service manuel that nissan uses

240driver39 01-12-2003 08:03 PM

700 +/- 50rpms when warm.
