wire harness 1996 to 1991

O.K I am putting a 1996 ka in a 1991 and we all know
that the 96 harness is setup different than the 91 along with
a few sensors in diff. places. what i want to know is do i need to rewire the harness or replace it all together, or is there some
way of useing the harness thats on the car now????
any help will be cool.
thanx and drift-on

you are in for a rough one here... what you are doing is converting over to obdII set up there... you need to replace the whole harness as well as get the 96 computer... the plugs are different and the sensors are different... as far as the wiring changes in the car there are a lot of them as well... im not sure as to what changed but they are no where near the same...it would be easier to use an early 95 motor than using the 96... as long as it is not an obdII motor it will swap out pretty easy...

now i know... i turned down to newer motors because for some reason i thought it was different... but i guess that if i swap the intake and distributor then it woulda worked... cool... might have to go back and see if one of the newer motors is still available... cant hate on a motor with only 80,000 miles on it...

I also kept the top part of the intake from the 96 because the 96 doent have the butterfly valves in the ports which does away with the swerl control valve also.

just finished swap and runs great the one thing is you have to
swap a/c bracket also . the 95 bracket will not line up it is set back an inch so use the old bracket.

who needs ac??? i dont even have a clutch fan on my motor... and i am still planning on adding the electric waterpump... less drag on the motor... i want to free up as much power as i can... i even thought about building an electric drive motor for the power steering and the alternator... we shall see how it all comes out...
