Wiring harness???

I have a Japanese RWD SR20DE engine but I can't find a wiring harness for it anywhere and I mean anywhere. Can anybody tell me what I can do to get this engine started up? What harness can I use to substitute for it? Do I have any options at all?

As far as I can tell - you're pretty much out of luck as far as finding a harness that will work for this.

You can try to start with a harness from a US FWD car that came with an SR20DE in it. You'd need some knowledge, a soldering iron and a whole mess of wire to lenghten some wires, but this harness should have MOST of the connectors you need on it at least... you'll need a good SR20DET wiring diagram to figure out how to wire in the ones you won't have.

You may want to look into a stand alone ECU for this. Check out www.sdsefi.com for the least expensive system around - it doesn't need a laptop for programming, but I think the fuel and timing maps use fewer data points than some that do require a laptop.

Any of the options available (other than finding a silvia/180sx harness) are going to involve a good amount of trial-and-error and soldering...

someone told me that if you go into japanese chat rooms in toyko you can swap stuff with them. this kid swapped his 240 rear end lights for 180 lights as an even swap. you might have some luck with that...who knows but good luck
