burning CD's
 

i'm a sort of a....computer junkie. and i like to download all sorts of things. movies, tv shows, music video's

i have a friend who uses regular CD's and burns them so that they can be used in a DVD player

i have software thats suspossed to let me do this too; i burn the CD as a video CD....even a Super video CD and it still wont work in any DVD player i put my CD's in

so i was wondering. does anyone else do this? what software do you use? can you help me in anyway?

i'm so sick of sitting at my computer watching movies, i wanna make it to the couch damn it!

You have to check if you DVD player will play CDRs and CDRWs. It sounds like it is an older one that cannot.

You can score one that can at Radio Shack for $50.

I got one thinking I could watch my Japan Region DVDs but it didn't like me. So they are all stuck on my computer's 21incher. I have to get video out.

Go for a Dazzle video capture unit. You will be able to do both. Video in and out. That way you can watch your cdrs, mpgs, avis and divx on your tv.

It looks strange when in the windows gui but the videos look fantastic.

if its a Sony it wont play a vcd even if it says it will. i have a cheap GE dvd player i got from wal-mart and it does everything including play mp3's. i use Nero Burning Rom to make my vcd's.

How bout DVD's? Any of you guys know of software that will let you copy them?

go to www.download.com they have some programs that will let you do it

theres a whole lot of programs you can use....hell, i think windows media player 9 can do it

go to www.vcdhelp.com and see the compatibility of your dvd player with the various formats of cd types. the best one to get is the old school apex that plays everything and regionless dvd coding. hope that helps.

Apex units have been the **** forever.

apex is what i got hehe, yea make sure your burning it as a vcd tho, svcd is mpeg 2 and wont play in alot. Altho apex plays them :D

Yeah i got an old apex dvd in the living room.....and like back when TF&F just can out i d/l it and burned it...and it would play the bootleg copie.......but now i have a new apex full surround sound in my room with dvd and everytthing and it dont pkay **** unless its store bought....and **** who does that...not me......
