Decisions

I have been going to school for a few semesters and I feel that my major is not the best for me. I would like to go into child psychology and help children and adolescents but I see that it could be very boring. I don't wanna be a burnout psychologist, screwing up people's lives and such. Quite recently though, I have found myself very interested in cars and wanting to learn everything about them. It seems that it would not be a boring job and such. The only problem is that if I should go to a school for psychology or mechanics. Mechanic's, please give me some advice, and if there are any psychologist, help me out too.

Well, I am neither a mechanic or a psychologist, but I just wanted to say, look at both fields of interest. What one would you like to do more. Which one can you see yourself doing in the years ahead and not being tired of it. It's probably not much help but think ahead a little and just try to picture yourself as both and see which one would better suited for you.

Well, it seems that an automotive school seems best for me. Another problem is that I want to remain close to home. I know there is Wyotech, but it is located in Pennsylvania, and there is another school somewhere in Brooklyn. I want to go to a school that would be in northern Jersey, so any info would be appreciated.

Lincoln Tech is in Mahwah, NJ. My brother went there and graduated top of his class, but he still wishes he went to Wyotech. The one in Brooklyn is Apex Technical Institute isn't it? Lincoln Tech is better, and Wyotech is the best. I think traveling to Wyotech would be more than worth it.

How far away in Wyotech from Middletown, Stupid? I don't wanna live 3 hours away from home and even 5 hours away from the city. Anyway, I wonder what curriculum they have at those schools.

Wyotech is more like 5-6 hours away. It's somewhere near Pittsburgh. All I know is Wyotech has classes for any and every aspect of fixing/restoring cars, where as Apex and Licoln Tech are more basic mechanics of engine, drivetrain, suspension and electrical.

I just remembered... You should try and go to the mechanics coarses over at boces. I hear they're pretty good and they don't take to long. Plus you can find out if it's really what you wanna do.

Noodles 09-23-2003 12:37 PM

I would do Boces, but I don't got the time for it at all. I work two jobs and go to school full time, and this is just so I can buy a 240. Anyway, what classes did your brother take at LincolnTech? And, do they got dorms? I don't think so.

I'm with Stupid 09-23-2003 01:55 PM

I'm pretty sure he took all of them, took him 18 monthes to complete. And no they don't have dorms.

Noodles 09-23-2003 06:42 PM

That sucks that there are no dorms.

Bro, if your already half way through your major U should finish up and if you don't still like it, it will alwayz be under your belt and you can always fall back on it. :thumb:

Yeah, I'm going to finish up the rest of my major. That was my plan, then go to another school. I'm probably going to go to Pace.
