First Accidental Drift

Ive driven the car in rain many times. I've learned how it handles for the most part so im not a total newb when it comes to driving rwd.

Today first day takin my Zenki S13 to school and light turns green and i change lanes to the left turn lane. Green light and no cars infront and i just take it nice and easy about.. 35mph.

I forgot that the ground is wet from the morning dew or whatever, its really foggy today. My tail kicks out and im like 35 degree across an intersection and by time i get into other street im already sideways and now its 180. My front goes over this small median, its about 3 inches above ground. Mmm i was so scared id **** up my lip but no. Everythings A-OK on the lip.

Now.. just to check to see if i messed my wheel alignment since it went over the median. But its only like 3 inches high so do u think it could possibly be damaged?

crashing doesnt = drifting... it would be wise of you to go to a parking lot and learn the limits of your car

losing control of your car in the wet... doesn't mean that you were drifting.
You need to learn the differnce, you should've counter-steered, and let off the gas.

My fault guys. Skid?

Yea i should go to lot and learn limits its just i havent gotten chance and two i wasnt planning on drifting anyway just.. happened i skidded.

I countersteered as best as i could i mean ive gone sideways mroe or less in other rwd cars and learned how to countersteer but this time i just couldnt, as hard as i turned it kept going wrong way. Doing the newb thing i just slammed on brake and clutch and well caused my tail to get infront.

Dude....35 MPH? COUNTERSTEER....it SHOULD come naturally...I guess not  I Almost lost control on many occasions...including one at 80<<<That was dumb :D Maybe you should practice...It can save your life in a bad situation.

lol, any tread left on your tires? personally I hate the rain too, wet conditions really change how your car handles because the point where you lose traction can vary. I can get a pretty good feel for when i'm about to lose grip on dry roads but I don't mess around on wet ones, but yeah not enough practice... let off the gas and countersteer sounds easy enough but being able to execute it right in real life is a different story...

good thing u didn't get into any serious damage.

Yea. My zenki lip is just scrateched a little bit.

Im thinking of either ducktape... or repaint over. I dunno. Whats you opinion. The ducktape wont be scene unless u like get on you hands and knee's to look at car.

Really only way to see the scratch is if u get on you hands and knee's.

Just sell the zenki lip to somebody on here. I've heard that they can bring a pretty penny. After all, its damaged now, why would you want it??? :dunno: ;)
