Have any of you ever done a citizen police academy?

I don't want to hear, "f*ck the police" and all that in this thread.

This is a general question asking if any of you have ever had the opportunity to participate in one of these free courses?

I just signed up to participate in it in my city. It's thirteen weeks every Wednesday night. You get to learn all that fun police stuff and do a five hour ride along with a cop sometime in the 13 weeks.

I'm only doing it because I was thinking about going to school for Criminal Justice. Not to be a traffic/street cop though. More for the forensics/crime scene investigation area.

So, if you ever have (which I don't really expect) what was your expirence like? Did you like it? What kind of things did you do?

Anyone know how to go about finding out how to get into one of these things? sounds sweet....

I found out about it in our local paper. It was also advertised on their website. You could always just go down to your police station and ask them if they participate in things like that.

I did get accepted by the way. I start on April 26th! I'm excited.
