Mr2

Anyone drifted a late 80's MR2? Would that be worth building into a drift machine? I hear of people doing crazy things to those, what do you guys think?

RuizXIII 12-08-2005 11:40 AM

I think that would be cool, maybe a lil difficult at first since the car is a midship runabout but it would be a cheap drift machine. I like em personally

Go for it!!!!!
The kids on club4ag.com drift MR2s.

The reason i ask is because i have a chance to buy a 1987 t top MR2 for about 2g's, i am just debating if i want to start another project :notify:

what condition is it in, i was about to buy one for 1000 but i had no where to put it

Pretty well kept up, but wouldn't engine repair/mods be diffcult since the engine is right behind the Driver/Passenger? or there space enough for anything at all?

they would be a little tough to drift due to all the weight in the rear, once that back comes out its gonna take some skill to keep it from coming all the way around

Morrison240 12-08-2005 02:04 PM

I can see your point, thank you all for your opinions

Ive heard people say they, and Nsx's are spin crazy, but it seems like the mid-engine would sort of center the car better or something.

I would think that parts would be kind of hard to come across... but then again if you're mechanically inclined and don't mind doing the research, I believe the platform can be pretty versatile to build on... not sure how that would apply to its driftability though.

tough to do... especially keeping it sideways instead of spinning out... you car make it into a good, fast, good handling car... i dunno bout a drift machine though

I see said the blind man

Not that good at being a drift car but can be depeneding on your suspension setup. I would get one just to have fun with if I didn't have so much more to do to my 240
