Need a Car

Hi, im in search of a car, and i've thought about the 240, but its kinda weak, and i need more power! and i dont want to hassle with an engine swap, Im not looking for a drifting car either. Im looking for a car that is already turbo, reliable, between a $8k-$15k, not high maintenance, parts are cheap, and a decent ammount of aftermarket parts. I know im very picky about this car, but i've been searching for along time. I've been thinking about alot of cars, ive really wanted a z32 300zx, but i've found out that they are high maintenance, and parts are expensive to replace. And i wanted a supra but those are wayyy to expensive. so anyone have any suggestions? anyone know a car that can easily and not to expensive to turbo? thanks in advance

some cars off the top of my head:
91 MR2 Turbo
Z31 300ZX Turbo
MKIII Supra Turbo
01 WRX
VW GTi 1.8t
some other cars...

despite what some people say, WRXs are awesome...stock or upgraded...

my teacher (lol) at school has an '01, hes pushing about 400-450hp at the wheels...thing foookin flieees...:naughty: :naughty:

but yea, ive driven stock WRXs and id say they are worth the money...

Thanks for the info 95_240SXSE! I'll definatly start lookin into WRX's. The reason i mentioned it is because I'm always seeing really nice wrx's on the road w/ body kits and such, i thought they were all show no go. which style is better? the 01-03 wrx's with the bug eye lights, or the 04 newer models? Also if you i do get a wrx, is the sti alot different? is the wrx just as worth it and not worth it to get an STi unless i go into rally or serious track racing? is the wrx good in a strait line (1/4 mile), or good at winding roads?

WRXs are not under 15k at all..that is your max price right? I think a MR2 will be a great car, wonderful and not to pricey. Rx-7s and Z32s are high matience, sadly. And parts do cost quite a lot. GTIs are great all around cars, a couple of my friends have some and its a fun car. I think its a toss up between the MR2 and GTI, WRX is you can afford it.

you should go for an e30 m3. i've always wanted one. good looks, handling, and i think 200hp. Plus, it's a bimmer:cool:

and i doubt they go over 15k...

I go for the Mitsu 3000GT VR4......but that's only me....

There's quite some difference in those models, lol. A 91 MR2 Turbo you could get for 6K, whereas a 300zx tt would run you close to 10K in good shape, even more. A supra turbo would run you more than that. A 01 WRX even more, but the beauty of all wheel drive is awesome on those. I like 3000gt's, however from what my friends and an owner said they have many tranny and other problems, however are still badass. I like the GTI VW's, however they are getting real popular here on the east coast, them and WRX's are becoming too mainstream for my liking. If you can afford it, go for a supra, lots of upgradeability, great performance and rare other than socal, lol. Last long as well if you treat them right. I'd take it over any other car listed.

How about Eclipse/Talon turbo AWD? Some say it doesn't turn but It'll turn just as good if you have the suspension right. :thumb: You'll need to get 2 even 3 LSDs instead of just one, though. :dunno:

I was thinking about that car before I got my 240, but the look on my fastback ruled. :)

i have some questions about these cars:
eclipse or 3000gt - reliable, cheap, parts arn't expensive, good car overall?

and as you can tell by my name i like e30's
my bro has a 87 bmw e325e (4 door) and its his DD, maybe i can get that car and put a 95 m3 engine in it? 200-250 hp i think?

i did a quick search on autotrader, i found a couple WRXs for under 15k...

Not sure about 3000GT & Bimmer.

For Eclipse turbo awd, you can get 1st & 2nd gen. for about $6000 or under. 3rd gen. prices vary thanks to that movie F&F..... But you can still get a nice, decent one within ur budget. :D

Reliable, not really if u're gonna modify it extensively. If u want reliability, I've heard a few owners suggest keeping it stock. Even so u still have 200hp to play with. Parts, they rn't cheap to me (I'm broke. :D) . Go search on it & u will get some ideas. Also, check www.dsm.org for info.

Good car overall? Depends on how u define a good car. To me, it is. But I care performance potential the most, interior & comfy 2nd, style the last. :)

Good luck on your car shopping. :thumb:
