rx7 ?s

well ive always kinda just noticed rx7s and didnt really care to much about them, but now i have really gotten into them and plan on purchasing one (of course an FC) but i dont really know to much about them or ANYTHING about the rotary. so if any of you have one or know about them i could really use your help. i dont plan on doing a full on project just kinda work on it while i daily it for a while...then when winter hits do some big stuff...so any links to stuff, personal experiences, good forums would be much appreciated

never owned one but i worked at a mazda dealer as a mechanic and all i can say is the rotary is a pos

Bumnah 08-18-2008 04:51 AM

As stated the rotary is a POS.
I believe the FC has something called "Active Toe". Where the toe in the rear tires changes depending on driving situation.

Kind of cool a lot of people don't like it from what I hear.

gotta respect all facets... the engine is not ****... its just that.. it requires deep pockets if you wanna race it.

from what ive been reading on forums and what not i hear the rotary sucks and then i hear there the best???

how deep lol like i said i dont really want to do a full on project just do some basic mods at first then when winter comes maybe turboII swap

Biggamehit 08-18-2008 03:34 PM

the engine just require care that is all if you plan on any sort of racing. they are volitile engines at times. i have many buddies with them they all have put alot into them and stand by them, they are very fast and powerful.

apex seals go up alot on them so going with the bigger seals is a must.. its a whole new world. i know the basics and a little more about them, its better for you to do some research on the engine for yourself bro, it will make things clear.

The apex seals are your worst enemy, they wear out pretty quickly.

Rotaries are pretty durable if you dont run boost through it, but if you do, make sure you have a lot of cash for constant repairs.

Its basically an extremely high maintenance motor to own. If you have to get an FC, either 2J that thing or SBC V8.

all i have heard about them is if they overheat once they are done.

yea ive changed my mind i dont wanna deal with a rotary, ive decided on a mr2 im pickin up a 93 when i get the firebird back from the shop

battosaii930 08-20-2008 03:33 PM

240driftfiend 08-20-2008 03:35 PM

NiSmO Knight 08-20-2008 04:06 PM

Wow, those rims ar protruding OUT!

240driftfiend 08-20-2008 04:28 PM

i dont know why it looks like that in the pictures..i saw the car in person and they dont stick out that far

Biggamehit 08-20-2008 05:38 PM

HHAHH k20 in a MR2 the biggest waste ever.

if you would even attempt that.. put a K24 in it hahaha event that would be stupid

when you you have -3s-gte ( there are 4 versions or so, be careful) that would go in and they dont cost alot becuase lots of people here in the states dont mess with them.

The wheels look like they were photoshopped to be bigger.
