Selling my tiburon, buying a 240sx, please help...

Hello, I am from Newtiburon.com. I had an accident with my 2003 tib, and I'm selling it after repairs, and considering a 240sx, or a 300zx. Which year 240 looks the nicest stock??? and also, whats a sylvia?? Any help would be great. Thanks.

the '97-'98 are the sweetest 240s out there, IMO. a silvia is the jdm version of the 240. it has a more powerful turbo motor- the SR20DET. we got the KA24DE (truck motor) which is weak when compared to the awesome SR20. still, the KA has more than enough power to out run little civics. :-) any other question? just ask.

Which one should I look seriously into: 240sx, 300zx (non-turbo) or 3000gt (non-turbo)??

sorry to sell my tiburon, after I put my intake in, I was running close to 190 hp, and 200 lbs ft torque I believe...

IMO, in terms of naturally aspirated cars, the 240sx whoops up on both the 300zx and the 3000gt. both the 300 and 3000 are wayyy too much weigh if ur not going turbo, and frankly i hate the 3000gts minus the VR-4s.

What kind of car are you looking for? What kind of performance?
If you want a highway car, look into that 300zx and possibly a turbo kit in the future. If you want handling/power mix, look into the 240sx. Both cars/engines (the VG and the KA) respond very well to turbo. Many people do an engine swap on their 240sx with the sr20det, which is the silvia/180sx jdm motor that comes stock turbo. Honestly, for drifting/track racing the 2.4 liter ka is the better motor IMO as it provides more torque out of the larger block, while the sr20 tends to be the favored drag/top end motor of 240s.

Anyways, let me know what kind of racing/performance/whatever you want, and we can go from there :P.

Take all the $ from the tiburon but a S13 (89-93) 240sx. Buy the SR20DET Engine, do the suspension and you'll have a car than can both out power and out handle all the other cars your thinking about.

I gotta agree with you on that one. I thought the 3000 (GTO in Japan) was a phat ride... til I got educated. Heavy, sorta clumsy, and FF!!! Yeah, only the VR-4 gets props as far as I'm concerned...

A modded 240sx will also keep you out of trouble with Insurance carriers. They are not listed as Sports Cars.
