Silver cars less likely to get into a accident??

Well well..I was reading up on some news on yahoo and came across this article http://story.news.yahoo.com/news?tmp...alth_cars_dc_1 It basically says that Silver cars are less likely to get into a accident. Also lighter and brighter colors are less likely to get into a accident. Black and brown are the worst colors...But it doesnt say why. Interesting none the less

Red cars are more likely to get pulled over ONLY because more sports cars are red than any other color. I used to work in car sales AND I used to work in law enforcement.

Silver cars are less likely to be in an accident because it is a more conservative color. Shows less dirt and is sellected as a color by people who would be less likely to be wreckless. No big secret or amazing stuff. The writers of the story rode that one real well though.

Hmph, new news to me.

Dounveeme 12-22-2003 03:46 AM

yea if thats true then why has my 240 been wrecked twice? its silver! i dno about the first time but the second time it was wrecked a drunk guy sideswiped the almost entire drivers side starting at the front.:barf:

The color doesn't drive the car....the driver drives the car.

Insurrance companies could care less what color you have. They just want information for their records. All colors cost the same to them.

This is the kind of stuff urban legends are made of.

so that makes me prone to accidents..

Thats pretty funny, right where the mystery car hit me theres some silver paint scrapes. Well I used my detective instinct and some sleuthing and came up with the hypothesis that most people that buy silver cars are less wreckless, but the people that hit my car are total **** smokers
